Providing an Important Service for Local Job Seekers
Due to the current economical climate, it is an unfortunate fact that a large number of people have lost their jobs. For these people, as well as those not happy in their current employment, the first port of call would be to visit their local job centre .
Every large town and city in the UK has at least one job centre, where those seeking work will find all the available positions.
The job centre staff will update the system with all job vacancies on a regular basis, to allow those jobseekers the opportunity to see new positions in the area first.
Job seekers are able to narrow their search by inputting the types of jobs they feel they have the experience and qualifications to apply for, so saving them the time it takes to trawl through hundreds of jobs before they find those that best suit. Once the jobseekers have found the details of any job vacancies they are interested in, the job centre staff can arrange an interview with the prospective employer on the applicant's behalf.
As well as providing a service for those seeking employment, the job centre staff also assess how seriously those claiming unemployment benefit are seeking work. They achieve this by monitoring the number of interviews the job seekers attend and how many suitable jobs they apply for.
